Alice Drezewski McVay, 92, of Washington, died Monday, December 24, 2018, in her home. She was born May 16, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of the late Mike and Catherine Wozniak Bednarski. A 1944 graduate of Trinity High School, Mrs. McVay retired from Union Camp. She was a life member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church and a 50-year member of its ANS Society. On June 22, 1947, she married Chester A. Drezewski, who died December 12, 1962. On April 22, 1975, she married Wallace E. “Bud” McVay, who died January 4, 2001. Surviving are her children, Barbara Payne (William), Karen Pelkey (George), and Chester A. Drezewski, Jr. (MaryAnn); grandchildren, Kimberly S. Pelkey Fleissner (Bill), Alyson O’Grady (Michael), Brian Pelkey (Amy), Anthony Drezewski (Maggie), Robert Falvo (Chris), and Jason Falvo (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Abigail, Katherine and Stephanie Drezewski, Tyson J. Pelkey, Haley, Gina, Cara, Antonio, AJ, and Lauren Falvo; great-great grandchild, Faith Knapp; and a sister, Pearl Legerski of Washington. Deceased are a great-grandchild, Anna Grace Pelkey; three brothers, John, Walter and Richard Bednarski; and four sisters, Bertha Ermacoff, Frances Hartline, Loretta Yanavich and Margorie Temple. Friends will be received on Thursday from 1 till 6 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. At the request of the deceased, services and burial will be private. At 5 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, the Ladies Adoration Society will hold a brief service.
