Beatrice "Bea" Laverne Rasel, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in her hometown of Washington, PA. Born on November 22, 1938, Bea lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her career, education, and the people she cherished.
Bea worked for an impressive 38 years at Jessop Steel, where she was known for her unwavering commitment and dedication. Her professional journey was marked by integrity and hard work, traits that earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
A proud graduate of Trinity High School, Bea continued her education at Marietta College in Ohio, where she obtained a Business Degree. This educational foundation equipped her with the skills to thrive in her long career and inspired her lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Bea was a person of warmth and compassion. She was known for her kind and welcoming personality, always making others feel at ease in her presence. Bea’s ability to connect with people fostered many lasting friendships. She enjoyed the company of her close friends Rena, late June, late Janine, Donna, Tracy and her dear friend Nancy (of Southmont) with whom she shared countless memories and experiences over the years.
Bea had a deep love for animals, especially her little stray cat named "Lovie," who brought her immense joy. Her compassion extended beyond her pets; she proudly attended Alanon for many years, offering and receiving support within the community.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Ann Rasel; her grandson, Joseph Chase Durila; and her granddaughter, Mandy Nevada Spielvogel and great granddaughter Katie Bea. Bea’s legacy will live on through her family, who will carry forth the values of kindness and warmth that she so beautifully embodied.
Bea is preceded in death by her son, Joseph William Rasel, whose memory remains cherished by all who knew him.
As we remember Bea’s life, we celebrate not only her achievements but also the love and kindness she spread throughout her years. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A special Thank you to The Southmont Community for their unwavering, support and kindness while my mother was in their loving care.
