Bette Lea Boyd

Bette Lea Boyd 81, of Washington passed away peacefully in her home on November 12, 2017. She was born in Washington October 15, 1936 a daughter of the late John Fonner and Margaret Conner Fonner. Bette was a graduate of Trinity High School She had worked as a nursing assistant and later became a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. On November 21, 1955 she married Ernest Richard Boyd who passed away March 16, 2005. Bette is survived by four sons, Richard Ernest (Linda) Boyd of Washington, John Dale (Vera) Boyd of Hardy, VA, Mark Alan Boyd of Washington, Scott Andrew ( Melissa) Boyd of Avella; daughter Sherrie Lea (Sam) McConn of Sauquoit, NY; Brothers Jim (Thelma) Fonner of Kentucky, Clyde ( Bonna) Fonner of Nevada, Bob ( Shirley) Fonner of Maryland; grandchildren, Joy Lynn and Tiffany Sue McConn, Ashlee Michele Boyd, Jenni Rae Adams, Christopher Andrew and Bradley Ernest Boyd; great-grandchildren, Paige and Logan Roberts,  Jaryn Hill, Aubrey Skoler, Kamedon Hill, Gibson Goff and Lily Flynt. Deceased are two brothers, Edwin Crites, Jack Crites; sister, Margaret McConnell; grandson, Mark Alan Boyd II. Friends will be received Wednesday November 15, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held Thursday November 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alan Jeffries officiating. Burial to follow in Washington Cemetery.
