Billie Jo Mance, 62, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and devoted healthcare professional, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2026, at UPMC Washington Hospital.
Born on April 10, 1964, in Washington, Billie Jo’s life was marked by kindness, determination, and an enduring love for those around her.
A 1982 graduate of Trinity High School, Billie Jo went on to work at the Tradesman's Inn in Scenery Hill. She made many friends, and the workplace continued to uplift and support her, working there while also earning a Licensed Practical Nursing degree from the Western Area Career Technical Center. Her career was as richly varied as her spirit—she dedicated herself to the Washington County Health Center as an LPN.
Her proudest accomplishments were her children—Matthew Mance (Shalee Schnore) and Ali Mance—and her grandchildren, Jaxton and Emery Mance, who brought her immense joy and pride every day. Alongside them stands her husband, Matthew "Schmutta" Mance, with whom she shared over three decades of marriage, having a bond built on love and mutual respect.
Billie Jo is also survived by her siblings; Gregory (Martha) Simms and Lou Ann (Todd) LeVan, nieces and nephews; Cassie (Joshua) Humphries, Abby Beattie, Mallory LeVan, Kimmy (Ron) Peters, Amber (Eric) Wolfe, and Pooner (Amy) Chester, Great nieces and nephews; Reece, Holdyn, Harper, Hudsyn, Havynn, Emma, Ryland, Ronald, Joshua, Haylee, Gavin, Abigal, and Lily who will deeply miss their dear “Aunt Bee Bee".
Despite the sorrow of loss, Billie Jo’s spirit endures in the hearts she touched. She is lovingly remembered alongside her parents, William A. and Jo Ann Simms, her brother, Jonathan Simms, and her grandmother, Lucy E. Fuchs, who preceded her in death.
As per Billie Jo's wishes all services will be private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd.
