Bruce Cuyler Livingston

Dec 11, 1952 — Jun 20, 2026

Washington

Bruce Cuyler Livingston, formerly of Beech Street, Washington, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, with his two children and brother by his side.

A son of the late William C. and Adeline Livingston, he was born December 11, 1952, in Washington.

He was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School, where he lettered in football. In 1974, he earned a Bachelor of Education degree from California College. He received the American Legion award in seventh grade, a medal recognizing courage, honor, leadership, scholarship, and history; a distinction only few were chosen that he humbly received.

Bruce retired as OTC store manager for CVS in 2018 with 47 years of service.

A parishioner of St. James in Washington, he had a deep commitment and love for God, never missing weekly Mass and always thanking God for the day.

He was a devoted and caring father and anchor to his two children, Kyler Livingston of Washington and Leslie Liviningston of Houston. He knew what his children needed before they asked. He was grandfather to Julius Livingston, who he loved unconditionally building a strong bond and protecting and providing in his quiet way. His children returned their love, especially his last days staying steadfast, giving him comfort by staying by his side.

Bruce was known for his elegant dress and style. He enjoyed Pirate games with his son and brother, meeting with former classmates at the Union Grill, going to the Meadows with his friends, visiting Mt. St. Marina in Uniontown, listening to coast to coast, watching J’s games with his son and visiting his daughter and tending to her cats “pappy’s girls” while she was at work. He enjoyed being with his son and having dinner together and all the moments they shared. He carried himself in truth and walked his life without applause. He was faithful and loyal.

Surviving are three sisters, Lynn Valerie, and Dawna; three brothers, Brian (Laurie), Keith, and Kent (Angela); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews too numerous to name.

Deceased is a sister, Cheryl (Brian) who passed away in 2016, and a brother, Billy who died in infancy.

He had a passion for reading, especially history and its events and read his Bible every day. From the Gospel of St. James, his favorite he learned from scripture “we’re like a puff of smoke, visible for a little while then vanishes.”

Bruce was a great man of great faith who will be greatly missed. “We love you dear brother.” The family would like to thank his children, Kyler and Leslie and his brother, Keith, who were with him all the way.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his children or a charity of one’s choice.
