Carol Ann Sharp, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Washington, Pennsylvania community, passed away on June 17, 2026, in her hometown where she was born on December 1, 1938. Her life was marked by dedication—to her family, her work, and her strong Christian faith.

A proud graduate of Trinity High School’s Class of 1956, Carol demonstrated from a young age a spirited personality characterized by kindness, a sharp sense of humor, and an unyielding love of debate.  Carol’s outgoing nature and hard-working spirit were evident throughout her career, which included tenure at the Observer Reporter and later as a self-employed provider of custodial services.

Family was Carol’s greatest accomplishment and joy. Known for never saying no to her granddaughters, she embraced her role with a loving heart and open arms. She is survived by her children Ron Knotts, Mark (Lori) Knotts, LuAnn (John) Craig, and her stepdaughter Susan Patterson. Sadly, she endured the loss of her son Vincent (Carla) Knotts, who passed away on February 5, 2024. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Hannah Knotts (fiancé Damien Landry), Jenna Craig, and Leanza Craig. Many nieces and nephews also carry forward her memory.

Carol’s life was further enriched by a variety of interests that brought joy and connection. She loved playing poker with her family, frequenting the Meadows casino, and cherishing the holiday seasons with loved ones—times filled with laughter, love, and her unmistakable spirit.

She was predeceased by her husband, George “Bud” Sharp, whom she married on December 13, 1973, as well as her brothers Paul Jr., Don, and Tom Cox, her sister Shirley Craig, and her dear cat Lucy.

Through her enduring faith, unwavering love, and tireless commitment to family, Carol Ann Sharp leaves a deeply felt void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her warmth, strength, and humor will be remembered with affection and respect forever.

Friends are invited to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave. Washington on Saturday June 20, 2026 from 2PM to 5PM at time of funeral service.  Burial will be private at Washington Cemetery.
