Cathy Jean Yoders

March 23, 1956 — November 12, 2025

Washington PA

Cathy Jean Yoders, a beloved mother, grandmother, and soon to be great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Washington, PA on November 12, 2025, with her cherished husband Gary by her side. Born on March 23, 1956, Cathy touched the lives of many during her generous and hard-working years.

For many years, Cathy dedicated herself to the healthcare field as a certified nursing assistant, showcasing her compassionate nature and commitment to helping others. She was not only a devoted caregiver but also a nurturing figure who loved spending time with her family. Her home was a warm gathering place filled with laughter, love, and the magical aromas of her culinary delights. Cathy was renowned for being the best noodle maker and an exceptional baker, sharing her delicious creations with everyone she loved.

Cathy’s enthusiasm for life was truly contagious. She relished the role of mother and grandmother, embracing every moment spent with her children: Terry (Stacie) Tennant, Nicole Yoders, and Gary (Mariah) Yoders. Her pride only grew with the arrival of her grandchildren, Miranda (Ryel Lee) Tennant, Faith Tennant, and Carter Burnette, as well as her soon to be great-granddaughter, Baby Girl Lee. She was eager and excited about her beloved title as a great-grandmother, a role that filled her heart with immeasurable joy.

Her vibrant personality shined through her numerous interests and hobbies. An avid Bingo player, she often traveled all the way to Tampa, Florida, just for a game, exemplifying her adventurous spirit. Cathy delighted in the little things, whether it was playing the game King Tut or spending time in her beautiful flower garden that flourished under her loving care. Known affectionately as the “bird whisper,” she had a unique gift of connecting with nature and finding peace in its presence. Cathy cherished her time at their tavern, “Yodies,” where the warmth of friends filled the air and made every visit memorable.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Gary Yoders, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She leaves behind her adoring children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, who will carry her spirit forward. Additionally, she is survived by her loving sisters, Maryann Gilbert and Tammy Noble, as well as her brother, Robert Noble, and sister-in-law, Beverly Terrel. Her family, including nieces and nephews, will forever treasure the memories of their time with her.

Preceding Cathy in death were her cherished parents, Edward Borkowski and Mary (Margie) Noble, along with her dear nieces, Melony Anderson and Jackie Gilbert. They now welcome her with open arms.

In this profound moment of loss, we remember Cathy Jean Yoders not just for her accomplishments but for the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and strength will continue to resonate within her family and friends as they cherish the beautiful memories they created together.
