On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, Celia James Henry, 92, of Strabane Woods, was reunited with her loving husband of 70 years, who greeted her at heaven's door with open arms. Prior to moving to Claysville, she spent her married life in Bentleyville. Celia was born September 28, 1928, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Albert D. and Mabel Alexandria James. She was the youngest of three daughters. She was a member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for many years. In 2020, she became the newest member of Taylorstown Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Monongahela High School in 1947. She was employed by Book's Shoe Store until she married the love of her life, Clyde A. Henry June 11, 1949. Mrs. Henry was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with joy. She was a member of the Ginger Hill Grange 1549 and Pomona Grange, holding offices in both. She belonged to the Country Cousins Square Dance Club. She bowled in a couple's league at Tan-O-Bell Lanes for many years and enjoyed getting together to play cards with many of her closest friends. Mrs. Henry enjoyed going on cruises when her health permitted and enjoyed sitting on her back porch and watching the hummingbirds and taking care of her flowers. She dearly loved her family and her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Don) Cunningham of Claysville; grandsons Shawn (Jayme) Cunningham of Claysville and Eric (Julie) Cunningham of Washington. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Aydan, Emma and Adalyn Cunningham. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Ann Ballein of Bentleyville and Beverly Henry of Finleyville. Deceased is her husband, Clyde A. Henry, who passed January 2, 2020. Also deceased are two sisters, Thelma Flowers and Pearl Piot. A special thanks to all the caretakers at Strabane Woods and Gateway Hospice, who became an important part of her family during the pandemic. Viewing will be at the Taylorstown Presbyterian Church, 31 Main Street, Taylorstown, from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, with a service to follow visitation, officiated by Pastor Clayton LaPosta.
