Charles R. Halvin, born on May 7, 1978, in Washington, PA, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and cherished memories.
Chuck was the proud and loving son of Patricia "Patty" (Obertach) Halvin, who survives him. He is also survived by his loving bonus aunts Susie, Patty Jo, and Kellye, as well as dear friends Marty, Brandon, and Chaddy, all of whom treasured their bonds with him. Preceding Chuck in death were his beloved grandparents, Leatrice and Robert Obertach, his good friend, Neal and his canine companion Honey.
A proud graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1991, Chuck went on to pursue further education at Penn Commercial, where he earned his Associate Degree in Drafting and CAD. In his professional life, Chuck found his calling as a self-employed Title Abstractor. His commitment to his work and his keen attention to detail were hallmarks of his successful career.
Chuck had a passion for life that was evident to all who knew him. A devoted sports fanatic, he rarely missed a Pittsburgh Pirates game and followed the Steelers and Penguins with unwavering enthusiasm. His love of music, especially the timeless sounds of Led Zeppelin, filled many days and added joy to countless moments.
At home, Chuck found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He relished family board games, creating laughter-filled evenings with those he loved. Every year, he delighted in cooking for his mom on her birthday—a tradition filled with care and affection. As a child, Chuck played baseball, with his mother cheering from the stands at every game, forging memories that endured through the years.
Friends and family will remember Chuck for his infectious sense of humor—he was a renowned jokester, always ready with a friendly word or a clever quip. He possessed a stubborn streak and an ornery spirit, qualities that only added to his appeal and endeared him to those around him.
Chuck enjoyed immersing himself in the worlds of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel comics, finding adventure and excitement in their stories. His life was defined by loyalty, laughter, and genuine connections with others.
The passing of Charles R. Halvin leaves a deep void in the lives of all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will hold dear his kindness, humor, and the special moments they shared.
