Charles Lee Lyle, 90, of Taylorstown, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Donnell House in Washington, PA.
He was born July 10, 1935, in Taylorstown, PA, son of the late Clifford Blayne Lyle and Nina Gwendolyn (Stewart) Lyle.
On December 15, 1961, Charles married Deloris Calvert Lyle, who passed away on December 17, 2021.
He was a 1953 graduate of Claysville High School; he also served honorably in the US Army.
Charles and Deloris owned and operated Taylorstown Country Store before its closing. Charles was also self-employed as an electrician.
He attended Taylorstown Christian Church as well as being a lifelong member of Claysville Mason Temple # 447.
Charles was a Pittsburgh sports fan, devoted to the Pirates, Steelers, and Pitt Basketball as well as the Washington Wild Things. He and Deloris loved traveling, and he particularly enjoyed attending spring training Pirates games in Florida. He wouldn’t miss watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on television, playing dart ball, driving his side-by-side any chance he got, and spending any time with his beloved grandchildren.
Charles is survived by son Greg (Dana) Lyle of Cape Coral, FL; daughter Patty (Darryl) Briggs of Washington; grandchildren Justin (Martha) Briggs, Tyler (Christina) Briggs, Charles Lee Lyle II, and Sydney Carolyn Lyle; great grandchild Marik Briggs; his beloved dog Kipper, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Charles is predeceased by brothers Donald Blayne Lyle and Kenneth Dale (Jane) Lyle.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Details will follow.
