Charlotte E. Howard, 74, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in the Donnell House, after a brief illness. She was born February 18, 1948, in Washington, the daughter of the late John S. and Eleanor Bernotas. Charlotte was a 1966 graduate of Trinity High School. She and her late husband owned and operated Bill’s Furniture for close to 60 years. On September 16, 1967, she married Arthur W. “Bill” Howard, who passed away on December 20, 2021. This summer they would have celebrated their 55th anniversary. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, going to flea markets, and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and her loving dog, Benji. Surviving are three daughters, Michele (Mark) Olsen, of Avella, Richele (Sean) Davis, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Lori (Travis) Brooks of Warrenton, Virginia; grandchildren, Mitchell and Morgan Olsen, Cameron, Carson and Chloe Davis, TJ, Billy and Jack Brooks; brother, John (Sue) Bernotas; sister-in-law, Peggy (Richard) Slack; sister- in-law, Alicia Howard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Deceased are a sister-in law, Cheryl Bernotas, and brother-in-law, Paul Howard. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, and 11a.m. to 12 p.m., the time of service, Friday, June 17th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
