Colton Ryan Shrontz, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2025, while hiking in Wyoming, with his loyal dog Oakley steadfastly by his side. Born on October 19, 1997, Colton was known for his loving and caring nature, his hardworking spirit, and a laughter that could light up any room. His tenacity and zest for life were evident in all that he did.
A graduate of Trinity High School in 2016, Colton pursued further education at Triangle Technical College, where he earned an associate degree. He dedicated his career to working as an electrician for the Clairton United States Steel Company, showcasing his commitment and work ethic that were hallmarks of his character.
Colton loved the great outdoors, and his passions encompassed hiking, farming, riding his quad, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with animals. His fondness for nature was matched only by his joy in helping others, a testament to his vibrant and generous spirit. He especially cherished family vacations to Ocean City, Virginia Beach, and Tennessee, but the memories he made during his two Disney Cruises with his Aunt Vicki and grandparents hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.
His departure leaves a void that will be felt deeply by his family. He is survived by his father, Richard Shrontz; his mother, Colleen Hupp Shrontz; his brothers, Garrett Shrontz and Afa Green; his sister, Sarah Shrontz; his grandmother, Frances Shrontz; and his grandfather, Worley Hupp. Colton also leaves behind an uncle, John Hupp, and an aunt, Vicki Shrontz, who will always remember the warmth of his smile and the joy he brought into their lives.
Colton was preceded in death by his uncle, George Kramer; his aunt, Sharon Kramer; his grandfather, Richard Shrontz; and his grandmother, Norma Hupp. These family members, who have passed on, surely welcomed him into peace, cherishing him and guiding him home.
A Celebration of Life for Colton and his Aunt Sharon Kramer will be held on August 2, 2025, at Billy Bell Park in Washington PA, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Prayers at 5PM and dinner to follow. This gathering intends to honor Colton's remarkable life and his loving Aunt Sharon.
Colton Shrontz's life, albeit short, was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He will be remembered not just for the time he spent with us, but for the love he shared, the joy he spread, and the impact he had on all who were lucky to know him.
