Dallas L. Schiegg

Dallas Schiegg, of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joann Schiegg.

Dallas proudly served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman. Following his military service, he worked as a Chemist and Chemical Engineer with several corporations such as Silar Optical and Xerox, . He moved frequently for in his positions and enjoyed working in Mexico, Wales, Texas and Florida.

Dallas had many interests including Chemistry, Math, Geology and Stamp Collecting. He was an avid reader and music lover and enjoyed attending classical musical symphony performances. He also enjoyed college football, especially his alma mater University of Pittsburgh and of course the annual Army-Navy game.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation followed by military honors at William G. Neal Funeral Home on Saturday August 15th from 1:00-2:00 with Military honors immediately following in recognition of his service in the United States Navy. Following the memorial service, Dallas's cremated remains will be entrusted to the United States Navy for burial at sea in accordance with his wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Public Radio (NPR) . The family appreciates the kindness and support shown during this difficult time.
