David Austin Allum, 72, of West Finley, died on November 7, 2021, in his home. He was born on January 5, 1949, in Greene County, a son of the late Austin and Dorothy White Allum. A graduate of McGuffey High School, he attended Fairmount United Methodist Church. David was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on October 30, 1970, with a rank of Private. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. An avid hunter and fisherman, David loved spending time outdoors, and he loved his dog, "Poochie." Mr. Allum was retired from the Claysville Water Joint Municipal Authority. On November 2, 1968, he married Mary Jane Devenney, who survives. Also surviving are three children, David Lee (Jodi) Allum, of Wintersville, OH, Tammy (Gary Popham, Jr.) Locy, of Monongahela, and Vickie Marcucci, of West Alexander; two brothers, Ronald (Judy) Allum, of East Finley, and Randy (Kathy) Allum, of East Finley; fourteen grandchildren, Johnathan Allum, Sabrina (Darren) Decker, Paige Locy, Alexis Allum, Dale Allum, Alaina Allum, Kaylin Lee, Hunter Lee, Devin Lemasters (fiancee Ronnie Drennen), Faith Locy, Seth Locy, Gary Popham III, Carly Popham, and Bryan Marcucci (Mara McBride); two great grandchildren, Brandon Allum and Jeremy Decker; as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a grandson, Jeremy Allum. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, with Pastor Scott Lawrence officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Claysville American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639, at the funeral home directly prior to the service.
