David L. Day

David L. Day, 66, of Washington, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at home, with his girls by his side. He was born on June 2, 1952, in Washington, a son of the late James H. and Helen Bedillion Day. A 1970 graduate of Trinity High School, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from California University of PA, and Master of Science degree from Bloomsburg University. Mr. Day worked as a manager in state facilities, including Selinsgrove Center, Western Center, SCI Waynesburg, and SCI Greene County. He was also a professional photographer. Mr. Day was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, where he was a Trustee, Vice President of the church council, and taught Sunday School. He was a member of the Ramps of Grace Ministry, a member of the Chestnut Ridge Grange, on the board of Washington Communities Human Services, and President of the Amwell Township Historical Society. He also coached his son and daughters’ baseball and softball teams.  On June 28, 1975, he married Lu Ann Logsdon, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lori (Brian Litchfield) Day, of Alexandria, VA and Alisa (Jonah) Hatfield, of Jefferson Hills; four brothers, Stephen (Peggy) Day, of Washington,  Dennis Day, of Portsmouth, OH, Duane (Christine) Day, of Washington, and William (JoAnne) Bedillion, of Washington; two sisters, Linda (Robert) Schmoyer, of Middleburg, PA, and Barbara Day, of Abingdon, MD; a grandson, Michael David Litchfield, a granddaughter on the way; in-laws, William and Patricia Logsdon of Washington and Carol (Steve) Bichler of The Villages, FL; and many nieces and nephews Deceased are a son, David M. Day and a brother, Clifford Bedillion. Friends will be received on Friday, July 6, 2018, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA.  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 7, 2018, in the Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Rd., Washington.  All attending the service, are asked to please meet at the church. Burial will follow in North Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Rd., Washington, PA, 15301.
