David “Mutz” Michael Legerski

David “Mutz” Michael Legerski, 70, of Washington, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, in his home.

He was born February 23, 1955, in Washington, a son of Pearl Bednarski Legerski and the late Walter Legerski.

David was a 1973 graduate of Trinity High School.

He was employed in the factory industry as a laborer.

David was a member of American Legion Post 175, the Legion Riders, the Pulaski Club, the Polish Club, the Slovak Club, the Independent Club, and the Bears Club.

He volunteered his time coaching youth baseball, football, and wrestling. David also played softball. He loved music, especially 70’s rock, Pittsburgh football and baseball. He enjoyed attending charity motorcycle runs with Legion Riders.

On November 20, 1976, he married Karen Welch Legerski, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David Michael (Nicole) Legerski Jr. and Nicholas Ryan Legerski (Christina Pratt); four grandchildren, Adrien Legerski, Kirsten Legerski, Austin Legerski and Eddie Gordon; a brother, Edward Legerski; a sister, Katherine “Kathy” Horwatt; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, 605 N Hewitt Ave, Washington, PA 15301. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Washington. All those attending the Mass are asked to meet at church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington Legion Riders, 9 Highland St, Monongahela PA 15063, who will be donating all proceeds to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dog Program in David’s name.
