David Samuel Woods, 79, of Washington, passed away June 21, 2026, in UPMC Washington.
He was born on December 27, 1946, in Washington, the son of the late Samuel Woods and Patti Palmer Woods.
David was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School and attended Irene’s Beauty Academy and Pittsburgh Beauty Academy, Charleroi Branch.
He served in the U.S. Army Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, Marksmanship Qualification Badge, and Army Commendation Medal.
David was owner and operator David & Co. Beauty Salon from 1987 to 2018.
He volunteered at the PA Trolley Museum in Washington for 40 years. He also volunteered and participated in Alex’s race.
David was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed classic cars. He loved people and chocolate. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his siblings, Wiliam Woods, Vicki Schroeder, Chuck Woods, and Richard (Linda) Woods; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are siblings Larry Woods, Penny Elliott and Tony Woods.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday June 28, 2026, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, with Father Jack Demnyan officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the PA Trolley Museum.
