Donald Ralph Swaggard, 80, of Washington, died Friday, December 21, 2018 at Transitions Health Care. He was born July 25, 1938, in Washington, the son of the late Frank and Helen Grosich Swaggard. Donald was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Washington Institute of Technology, where he received his certification in drafting. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was an avid coin collector. He enjoyed attending auctions and fishing. On August 9, 1990, he married, Nancy Logan, who died September 8, 2015. Surviving are two step sons, Theodore (Karen) Cukryznski and John (Betsy) Cukryznski; two step daughters, Deborah (Reed) Whipkey and Pamela (Donnie) Opfar; a brother, James (Koni) Swaggard of Palm City, FL; a sister, Carolyn Miller of Burgettstown; nine step-grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews with whom he was very close, Shawn, Amy, Mary, Andrew, Beth Ann, Chris, Diane, Ronald, Martin and Travis. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are two brothers, Ronald and David Swaggard. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of service, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington with Rev. Dr. Roger Raymond Fisher officiating.
