Donald Kenny Wheeler

Donald K. “Kenny” Wheeler, 76, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in his home, following a short illness. He was born April 19, 1947, on the family farm in Washington, a son of the late William David Wheeler and Emma Alice Baldwin Wheeler. He spent 15 years on the family farm in Claysville, where he learned the value of a hard work ethic. Kenny was employed by Coen Oil Co., as the recap shop and retail tire shop manager, retiring after 52 years. He was a 1965 graduate of McGuffey High School. Kenny had many interests in his life, which he pursued with passion. He and his family travelled all over the world, they hunted in the U.S., Cananda, and Africa. He enjoyed photography. On March 29, 1968, he married his wife of 56 years, Karen Cunningham Wheeler, who survives. Also surviving are their daughter, Tracy and her daughter Bailey; their son, Scott and his wife Judy and their children, Felix and Duncan; and two special people, niece Belinda S. Warner and nephew David (Lauren) Chipps. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
