Doris A. McGraw, 88, of Buffalo Village, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 28, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born on September 21, 1929, in Hickory, a daughter of the late Harry Wayne and Grace Lucille Schafer Cowden. A graduate of Hickory High School, Doris then graduated from the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. McGraw worked as a registered nurse at the Washington Hospital, retiring in 1984. Doris attended Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church. A member of Buffalo Homemakers, she also was a 4-H leader, and enjoyed her time in bowling leagues, including a league at Route 19 Bowl. She was an excellent cook and baker, and especially enjoyed cooking for family. Doris also loved crossword puzzles, and enjoyed golfing and playing Scrabble. On October 6, 1951, she married William B. McGraw, who died on January 8, 1989. Surviving are four children, Janice A. (Michael) Hancher, of Washington, Joyce M. (Greg) Ramsey, of Buffalo Village, William M. (Vicki) McGraw, of Bulger, and Patricia J. (William) Hamilton, of Washington; a brother, Richard (the late Doris) Cowden, of McDonald; five grandchildren, Jeremy and Ammon Hancher, Alex (Lana) Ramsey, Kelly Ramsey, and Caitlin Hamilton; two great grandchildren, Kellen and Piper Ramsey; a sister-in-law, Julia Cowden, of Cherry Valley; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are her brother, Wayne Cowden, her twin sister, Dorothy Murray, and her husband David Hillis Murray. Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, with Pastor Judy Mayer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.
