Dorothy F. Sarber Weaver, 95 of Washington went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born on April 17, 1923 in Webster, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Katherine M. Stangroom Sarber. At an early age Dorothy and her family moved to the Tylerdale section of Washington where she attended Clark School and Washington High School. On November 10, 1940, she married Paul E. Weaver of Scenery Hill in her parent’s home with Rev. Clarence Weaver, uncle of the groom officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Weaver were married 64 years before his passing in December 2004. Mrs. Weaver was the oldest member of Allison Avenue Baptist Church, now Abundant Life Baptist Church. She served as a deaconess for several years and enjoyed the ministry, donuts, devotions and dartball, which was started by her husband in the early 1990’s. She kept a daily journal for over 50 years. Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress and made many clothes for her daughters, son, grandchildren and herself. She also enjoyed needlework and made many keepsakes for family and friends. She also enjoyed tending her beautiful flower gardens. Her cinnamon rolls were wonderful, and her Christmas breakfast ring was always a highlight of the holidays. There were always homemade cookies or goodies for her family anytime they visited. She always decorated her home for the season and holidays. After her husband retired, they made many trips around the U.S. and especially loved visiting with grandsons and families in Arizona, Delaware, Missouri, Alabama and Minnesota. She will be sorely missed as she and her husband had a very close-knit family. She was a two-time cancer survivor. Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters and one son, Marjorie K.
