Earl Maxwell Reese, 73, of Washington, died Sunday, October 7, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 13, 1944, in Washington, a son of the late Earl and Mary Mancini Reese. A graduate of McGuffey High School, Mr. Reese served in the Marine Corps from May 31, 1965, until his honorable discharge on March 7, 1969, with a rank of Sergeant. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with 5 bronze service stars, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with device, and Combat Aircrew Wings with 3 stars. He was also presented with two Letters of Commendation and a Certificate of Achievement. Prior to retirement, Mr. Reese worked as a mechanic. He also owned and operated a cattle farm. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family. On September 21, 1969, he married Judith S. Olesky, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Stephanie (Rob) Baily of Hilliard, Ohio, Kevin (Terry) Reese of St. Louis, Missouri, Brian (Amy) Reese of Pittsburgh, and Christine (Brian) Herron of Easton; four siblings, William “Bill” (Bonnie) Reese, Deanna (Johnny) Lesneski, John (Vanessa) Reese, and Kathy (Fred) Huff, all of Washington; six grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Baily, Mia and Olivia Reese and Andrew and Katelyn Herron; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Leora Armstrong, and a granddaughter, Emily Reese. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 9th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. At the request of the deceased, service and burial in North Buffalo Cemetery will be private.
