Ellamae Allen

Ellamae Allen (Yolton), of Washington passed away peacefully at her residence on August 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

Ellamae was born on July 10, 1941, in Carnegie, a daughter of the late Edward Yolton and Buelah Obney Yolton. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ellamae married the love of her life, James “Sonny” Allen, on May 27, 1958. Together, they shared nearly 60 years of marriage before his passing on April 14, 2018. In addition to her husband, Ellamae was preceded in death by her beloved son, John Wayne Allen and his wife Jackie.

Ellamae worked for many years as a bank teller at First National Bank, a position she took great pride in. Throughout her career and her life, she cherished the many friendships and relationships she formed along the way. She later worked at Bon-Ton at the jewelry counter, where she enjoyed helping customers and often found special treasures that reminded her of family and friends. Outside of work, Ella Mae enjoyed painting, crafting, and creating beautiful flower arrangements. She found joy in expressing her creativity and sharing the things she made with those she loved.

Ella Mae is survived by her three children: her son, Jim Allen and his wife, Judi; her daughters, Jodi Allen and her partner, Robb Hamilton, and Judy Shrontz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Allen and Cody Hamilton; her great-granddaughter, Zoey Tilger; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Above all, Ella Mae cherished her family. Her love, kindness, and devotion to those closest to her will remain in their hearts and memories for years to come.

She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly.
