Elsie Marie Byers

Elsie Marie Davidson Byers, 90, of Avella, PA, passed away at Transitions Healthcare in Washington, PA, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

She was born on February 1, 1935, in Hopewell Township, daughter of the late Elizabeth Irene Mounts Davidson and Louis E. Davidson.

Elsie graduated from Claysville High School in May 1953.

On June 5,1955 she married John C. Byers who passed away on February 17, 2012. They had two daughters, Beth Ann (James) Cook and Teri (Steve) Jackson.

Elsie was a member of the Taylorstown Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon.

She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to sew, quilt, knit and crochet, as well as bake cookies.

She leaves behind her caregiver brother, Rusty E. (Susan Dunn) Davidson of Taylorstown; two grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews; several good friends, especially Sally; and her very best friend, Abbie D, her beloved cat.

In addition to her husband, and parents, Elsie is predeceased by her other brothers Ray (Donna) Davidson and Paul (Helen) Davidson, and her sister, Patty.

As Elsie wished, there are no services planned.
