Elsie L. Schumacher

Elsie L. Schumacher, born December 8, 1943, in Pleasant Grove, Pennsylvania to the late LeRoy and Beulah (Toland) Davis and passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, with her family by her side.

Elsie was a graduate of McGuffey High School, Class of 1961.  On August 26, 1961, she married the love of her life the late William who passed away on July 12, 2015.  

She became well known in Washington, Pennsylvania, as a waitress who truly stood out. She was remembered as one of the best, and she seemed to know everyone. Her warmth, familiarity, and gift for connecting with people made a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

Outside of work, Elsie found joy in the simple pleasures that brought fun to everyday life. She enjoyed bingo, scratch-off tickets, yard sales, and thrifting. These were the kinds of pastimes that suited her spirited nature and added to the many happy memories her family carries with them now. Those who loved her will remember the laughter she inspired. Her family holds countless memories of Elsie that still make them smile and laugh, a lasting reflection of the happiness she brought into their lives.

Above all else, Elsie’s greatest pride was her family, she is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Terry) Harrison, and her son, Bill (Jennifer) Schumacher; and her grandchildren, Billy (Sara) Schumacher, Julie Schumacher, Danielle (Jeremy) Pettit, Dustin (Emily) Schumacher, Elizabeth Schumacher, Ethan Sanders, Doug, Nick, Mike Harrison and 11 Great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Clyde Davis, and her sister-in-law, Ruth Davis. The love Elsie gave to her family was at the center of her life, and that love will continue to be felt in the generations she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Randell, Clarence, Jospeh, Ferris, John, Archie, and Jim, and by her sisters Sarah and Shirley.

Friends and family are invited to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave Washington PA on September 14, 2026, from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM.  A funeral service will take place on Tuesday September 15, 2026, at 11AM at the funeral.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
