It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Emma B. Angott on June 4, 2025.
Emma was born on March 22,1929, the daughter of Rusell and Floa (Littell) Chapman, residents of Washington, PA.
She graduated from Washington High School at age 17, with Honors.
Emma was a long-time resident of Pennsylvania, and also lived in the State of California, where her mother and many family members resided.
After high school, she was employed by Bell Telephone as a Line Operator in Washington, PA, and at Pacific Crest Telephone in Southern California.
On July 24, 1948, Emma married Pete Angott, of Washington, PA, whom God called Home on May 1, 2000. Together they raised six children, Lois D’Emilio, Joanne Davis, Dennis Angott, Donald (Cheryl) Angott, Jeff (Sue) Angott, and Mary Anne (Tom) Waltz.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington, PA.
Emma was one of nine children, with only one sibling surviving, Thomas Chapman of Arizona. Previously passed, in addition to her parents and husband, are daughter Joanne Davis; sisters Arlene, Imogene, and Mavoureen; and brothers Charles, Herman, Robert, and Russell.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Denise (David) Augenstein, Donna (Brad) Naser, Heather (Michael) Simpson, Jamie (Heath) Muscavitch, Thomas (April) Waltz, and Jeffrey (Emily) Angott; seven great-grandchildren, Jason, Jr., Luke, Hannah, Tyler, Sky, Justin, and Kendall; and many nieces and nephews.
Emma was a thoughtful and loving mother to all her children and bestowed high adoration and praise on her grandchildren and extended family members.
She loved traveling with daughter Mary Anne several times to Las Vegas, to many Southern California cities, and to Arizona. Emma enjoyed going to the horse races at the Meadows with her daughter-in-law Cheryl. She was also fond of going to Bingo at the Legion, where she was a member, and North Franklin Fire Hall with her special niece Barbara, and she especially loved stopping at Gabby Market for scratch-off tickets.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral Service will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the First Christian Church, with the Reverend Heather Simpson officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Cemetery with final prayers in the Mausoleum Chapel.
