Washington PA

Frank “Zeke” Zebrasky, 87, of Washington, passed away on Saturday December 6, 2025 at 5:40 pm. He was born on July 1, 1938 in Jefferson Township, Washington County PA, the only son of Frank August Zebrasky and Antoinette (Kurpil) Zebrasky. Zeke is preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life Rosslyn Wheatley Zebrasky, who passed away on May 21st 2025, a sister Joanne Balfe, and an infant son.

Zeke was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School where he was standout basketball player. Pappy Zekie, as he was known to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was an avid sports fan and a lifelong supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Wash High PREXIES. He followed his children and grandchildren throughout their sports and academic careers without missing a game! He shared his passion for sports especially basketball where he mentored many neighborhood children including his grandsons who practiced too many free throws to calculate. In addition, he coached the 7th Ward Tigers basketball team for many years. One of his proudest moments was seeing his son Frank managing the Washington All Stars in the Pony League World Series teams where his grandsons Zack (2001) and Zane (2003) were players. Zeke was the visiting team pitcher in the very first PONY league game held in 1951. Later, on the 50th anniversary of PONY League in 2001, he was honored as such. Additionally, Zeke played on the Washington team in the 1952 PONY League World Series.

Zeke was one of the first three people hired at Washington Penn Plastics in 1955 where he started as a machine operator quickly working his way up to manager of shipping and receiving. Often accused of being a perfectionist, he worked tirelessly to meet customer needs. His knowledge of the plastic industry was well respected by owners and all of his peers and employees. In 1995, he received the prestigious HONEYBEE award along with his longtime friend Teck Syrek. The award honored those employees who went above and beyond and who always strived for the betterment of the group. During the Honeybee luncheon Zeke was referred to as the “Trusted Gate Keeper” of Washington Penn Plastics, where the best interest of the company and its customers guided all his actions.

Zeke’s sharp memory and attention to detail made him the ultimate storyteller. He was a lifelong member of the Pulaski Club and the Bears Club. Zeke dedicated his entire life to his family always providing support and encouragement.

Zeke leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Frank R. (Kelley) Zebrasky; daughter Marsha Zebrasky (Guadalupe Reyes); grandchildren Zachary (Leah) Zebrasky; Zane (Sasha) Zebrasky and great grandchildren Jack Ross, Zane James (ZJ), Luciana (Lucy) Rose, Zia Rose and Josie Faye. He also leaves behind his bonus family members Bob and Milana Redlinger and children.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Zeke’s memory to PONY League World Series, with checks payable to Tournaments INC., PO BOX 1115, Washington PA, 15301
