Gail Ann Thomas, 84, of Washington, died on Saturday, December 30, 2017, in the Washington Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frederick Franklin and Helen Clark Loughman. A graduate of Washington High School, Gail was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Thomas worked for many years at J.C. Penney in Washington. A daily visitor to the Senior Citizens Center, Gail enjoyed playing bingo, singing, dancing, and performing in shows with the group at the center.  She also belonged to a Senior Bowling League. On December 24, 1950, she married Charles W. Thomas, who survives.  They just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Also surviving are a son, Fred (Jeanne) Thomas, of Wellsburg, WV; two daughters, Danna L. McCarthy, of Port Orange, FL, and Debrah L. (Denny) Cogar, of Claysville; seven grandchildren, Deja Jones, Joshua Thomas, Julia Wagor, Crystal Gambino, Billy Donkin, Kelli Benner, and Derick Cogar; ten great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three sisters, Betty Affleck, Margaret Frazier, and Janet Frazier. Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of services, with Rev. Steven Dunlap officiating. Burial in Washington Cemetery will be private. Donations in memory of Gail Ann Thomas, may be made to the Washington City Mission, 84 W. Wheeling St., Washington, PA 15301.
