Garry C. Kita, 68, of Washington passed away on February 16, 2026, in UPMC Washington.

He was born on September 12, 1957, a son of the late James Kita and Mary Kler Kita.

Garry was a graduate of Trinity High School.

He worked as a carpenter for many years before retiring from Lowes.

Garry bravely battled illness for many years, but even in sickness time spent with him was always fun. If you sat down and had a drink with Garry, you knew he’d make you laugh. He loved to spend his time in Washington with his friends at the Independent Club and VFW.

On July 2, 2010, he married Cathy Lacey Kita, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Matthew Kita; two brothers, Jim (Sue) Kita and Larry Kita; a sister Peggy (Tony) Bell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Garry is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother, Frank Kita.

Family and friends will be received from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
