Gary William Chase Sr.

Gary William Chase Sr., 78, of Washington, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, in UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh.

He was born February 5, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late Carroll Wilbert Chase and Goldie Virginia Durbin Chase.

Gary was a 1966 graduate of Trinity High School.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during the Vietnam War.

Gary was employed by a chemical company, Reaxis Inc.

He was Christian by faith.

Gary enjoyed woodworking, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On August 19, 1972, he married Esther Eva Loar Chase, who passed away April 2, 2021.

Surviving are three sons, James (Carol) Coffield, Gary Chase Jr. and Steve Chase; two daughters, Donna Rudy and Kimberly Szgenda (Dustin Ackley); a brother, Federick Chase; six grandchildren, Christina, Aidan, Schea, Deegan, Nicholas and Madison; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Dilly and Shayne; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are a grandson, Michael Rudy; a brother, Clifford Chase; and a sister, Nancy Chase.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the time of service, Friday, June 13, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
