Gary Stoneking, born on July 16, 1976, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 13, 2026, in Washington, Pennsylvania. His unexpected passing, just days before what would have been his 50th birthday, has left a deep sense of loss in all who knew and loved him.

Gary was the beloved son of Candice Riggs Otte and Gary Otte. As his mother’s only child, Gary held a special place in her heart; she considered him not just her son, but her best buddy. He was the father to his children, Helen (Alonzo) Keys, Dakota (Sarah) Stoneking, and Autumn Stoneking, and grandfather to: Xavier, Willow, Nona, Jameson, and Connor.

From his earliest days in Waynesburg, Gary embodied a welcoming spirit. He attended Waynesburg High School, where he forged friendships that lasted throughout his life. He was known for being friendly and getting along with everyone he met, traits that would define his interactions with others in the years that followed.

Gary's working life took him down various paths. He worked as a textile worker for some time, displaying dedication and a strong work ethic. When he was younger, Gary enjoyed driving a truck and took special pride in lawn service, skills that reflected both his industrious nature and his enjoyment of working outdoors.

Gary—was affectionately described as a big teddy bear by many of his friends and family.

Gary leaves behind not only his immediate family but also a circle of loving relatives, including his uncles James Riggs and Charles Riggs and aunts Joyce Riggs and Beth Riggs. His absence will be deeply felt by each of them.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Riggs and Joseph Miller, his grandmother Ann Ruth Miller, his nephew Charlie Riggs, and his niece Heather Riggs. Their memories, alongside that of Gary, will no doubt continue to provide comfort and connection for the family.

In marking Gary Stoneking’s passing, his family and friends remember a man who, through kindness and good humor, brightened the lives of those around him. His memory will be cherished, and his presence missed deeply by all who had the privilege to know him.
