George “Mr. Walleye” Swierczek, 84, of Washington, died February 6, 2022, in Canonsburg Hospital from complications of Covid-19. He was born September 19, 1937, in Ambridge, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Pshik Swierczek. George graduated from Ambridge High School. He was a career Firefighter for the City of Washington until his retirement. George loved to fish and founded the Yough Walleye Association and became known as “Mr. Walleye”. On December 31, 1954, George married Pearl A. Moulton, who died on June 1, 2000, after 45 years of marriage. Surviving to cherish his memory are two sons, John A. (Leanna) Swierczek, of Avella, William (Diane) Swierczek, of Canonsburg, and a special "adopted son" Michael Sesek, of Uniontown; grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Melissa, and John W. Swierczek, and Sean McKnight; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Swierczek. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty-Four, PA 15330. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 12-3 pm, the time of the Firemen’s Final Salute, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington.
