Gerald "Jerry" C. Munnell

Gerald C. “Jerry” Munnell, 73 of Washington, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Washington Hospital. He was born December 7, 1945 in Florence, South Carolina, the son of the late Wilbur and Virginia Craig Munnell. Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School and attended California State Teachers College. He was the owner of Jerry’s Shoe Repair in Washington. Jerry was a member of Fairmount United Methodist Church. He led spelunking expeditions and enjoyed kayaking and bowling. On July 10, 1966, he married Marcy Brownlee, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Michelle (Paul) Rabideau, M.D. of Whitmore Lake, Michigan and Nichole (Andy) Heim of Tarentum; two brothers, Roger (Dottie) Munnell of Belfonte and Thomas (Cindy) Munnell PhD of Aurora, Colorado; a sister, Bonnie Munnell of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Philip, Rachel, and Rebecca Rabideau; a special family friend, Linda Hamilton of Washington; Anne Pascale Francois, the one-time exchange student from Belgium who is like a third daughter; several nieces and nephews; and his cat Annie. Friends will be received Friday, December 21, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. the time of service at Fairmount United Methodist Church, 120 Fairmount Church Rd, West Finley with Rev.
