Gordon W. Grimm

January 20, 1940 — May 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Grimm, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Gordon left us peacefully, surrounded by loving family.

Born to Theodore and Virginia Grimm, Gordon was a man of incredible character and dedication. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Grace (McCoy), for nearly 64 beautiful years. Their bond was a testament to true love, and Gordon often expressed his deep appreciation for Mary Grace, whom he considered his most cherished companion.

Gordon shared a special bond with his brother, R. Halden (Carolyn) Grimm, who was not only his sibling but also his best friend. Their relationship was filled with love, support, and countless memories.

As a devoted family man, Gordon took immense pride in his role as a father to Theodore (Robin) Grimm and as a grandfather to Shawn (Chrisden) Grimm and Tyler (Sara) Grimm. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren—Sienna, Maxwell, Sophia, Sage, and Tate—who brought him endless joy and laughter.

A true lover of music, Gordon had a passion for 50s music and bluegrass, often filling the home with the sounds of his beloved guitars and mandolins. He found great joy in playing, sharing melodies that resonated with family and friends alike. Gordon also enjoyed watching western movies which brought him happiness.

In addition to his musical talents, Gordon enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly fishing. Those peaceful moments by the water brought him great tranquility and happiness.

Gordon also adored his dog, Mandy, who brought comfort and companionship into his life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will forever be remembered by those who knew him. Gordon will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025 in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, with Pat Mary officiating.
