Harold Joseph McClelland Sr.

Pastor Harold Joseph McClelland Sr., 94, of Canonsburg, went to meet his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in his home, surrounded by family.

He was born February 16, 1931, in Washington, a son of the late Clarence McClelland and Katherine Daugherty McClelland.

Harold attended Washington High School. He worked as a barber for 20 years.

He was founder and pastor of Gospel Way Church in Canonsburg. He completed a four-year study certification and was ordained in Church of Nazarene for nine years. Harold was a minister for more than 60 years.

Harold loved listening to gospel music and spending time with his family.

On January 11, 1950, he married Dorothy Jean Pugh McClelland, who passed away March 3, 2018. On June 3, 2023, he married Ruth Huntington McClelland, who passed away March 28, 2025.

Surviving are three daughters, Deborah (Robert) Bird, Carla (Frank) Sanpietro and Lesa (James) Hixenbaugh; a son, Harold (Renee) McClelland; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Clarence McClelland, and Kenneth “Kelly” McClelland; two sisters, Ilene Bails, and Eleanor Campbell; and a granddaughter, Giuliana Balsamo Sanpietro.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Monday, August 11, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Kyle Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
