Harry K. "Luke" Lukich, age 76, passed away February 17th, 2026 at his home in Washington, PA.
Born March 20th, 1949, he was the youngest son of the late Mamie (Frye) and Peter Lukich of Houston, PA.
He is preceded in death by his beloved companion Sandra "Sandy" Long, his sisters Mamie Smolcic and Patricia Geyer, and his brother George Lukich. He is survived by his three sons: Thomas, Peter (Melissa) and Daniel Lukich, and his three granddaughters: Harper, Adalynn and Violet Lukich.
He graduated from Chartiers-Houston high school in 1967 and served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 including during the Vietnam War as a military policeman. He obtained his bachelor's degree in environmental studies from California University of Pennsylvania in 1978. Throughout his working life, he was primarily employed in the coal industry, while operating his own small construction business, and occasionally substitute teaching in science and physical education. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, as well as designing and building construction projects at home. In recent years, he enjoyed spending time with friends at the local clubs he belonged to, including the VFW of Canonsburg and the American Legion of Houston.
Friends and family will be welcomed on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA, where a service will be held at 12 pm. Burial will follow at N. Buffalo Cemetery, Washington, PA.
