Harry J. Megyesy Sr., 80, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

He was born November 9, 1944, in Washington, a son of the late Steve A. Megyesy and Margaret Friend Megyesy.

Harry proudly served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed as a mechanic and enjoyed restoring cars.

Harry loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and helping others out when they were in need.

On January 15, 1966, he married Fay Blankinsop Megyesy, who passed away October 11, 2019.

Surviving are a son, Harry J. Megyesy, Jr.; two daughters, Cindy (Arthur) Bowens and Candy Megyesy (Bryan Long); nine grandchildren, Christina, Charles, Robert, Margaret, Howard, Sierra, Emalee and Mason; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Chuck Megyesy, Steve Megyesy, Ron Megyesy, and Gary Megyesy; a sister, Grace Megyesy; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are a son, Charles Megyesy Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Bella; a sister, Rosemary Megyesy; and a daughter-in-law, Amy Megyesy.

Arrangements are private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. Burial will be private in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the Megyesy family home.
