Henry Nichols, born on May 29, 1941, in Clover, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Washington, Pennsylvania. His life's journey was one marked by unwavering dedication and a steadfast work ethic.

A graduate of Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia, Henry carried the values instilled in him from his early years throughout his life. He answered the call of service with honor, serving in the United States Coast Guard where he rose to the rank of E-5 before being honorably discharged. This chapter was a testament to his commitment and discipline, qualities that would define him in every role he embraced.

Following his military service, Henry devoted over two decades to a career as a truck driver for Panhandle Foods, a profession that spoke to his hard-working nature and reliability. Whether behind the wheel or at home, Henry’s focus was always clear: family first.

Known to many as a man of great humility and strength, Henry found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed the challenges of golf, and found solace in reading.

Henry was loved by his family. He was the devoted son of the late Henry W. Nichols Sr. and Frances (Clay) Nichols and the beloved husband of Jo Ann Nichols, whom he married on November 24, 1963. Though Jo Ann has preceded him in death, their bond remains a lasting legacy.

He leaves behind cherished memories with his children, Wilson Nichols III and Terri (Dean) Pagliuca, who carry forward his indomitable spirit and values. His pride was equally evident in his grandchildren, Robert Nichols and Sarah Nichols, and in the twinkle of his great-grandchildren, Angelina, Molly, and Tristan, who brought immeasurable joy to his later years.

Henry Nichols’ life was a beacon of steadfast commitment—to his country, his career, and most of all, to the family he held close to his heart.

All services are private and entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Home 925 Allison Ave Washington PA.
