Herman Andrew Ropele Jr.

Herman Andrew Ropele Jr., 77, of Washington, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born December 30, 1947, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Sally Slovinsky Ropele.

Herman was a graduate of Jefferson Morgan High School and California University of Pennsylvania.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Herman was employed by Cisco Systems as a channel manager.

He was Roman Catholic by faith.

Herman enjoyed gardening and fly fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids.

On July 24, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Cassandra Haiden Ropele, who passed away February 5, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, Justin Ropele and Joshua Ropele; a daughter, Courtney (Donald) Wetzel; a sister, Susie Thompson; a sister-in-law, Stephanie (David) Carangie; a brother-in-law, Jan (Karen) Haiden; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
