Janet Piatt

Janet Piatt, born on March 27, 1949, in Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 19, 2026, in her hometown. Janet lived a life marked by devotion to her family and a warm, welcoming spirit, qualities that defined her very being and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A devoted mother, Janet’s proudest accomplishment was her family. She cherished raising her children, embracing each moment with love and dedication. Her nurturing nature extended beyond motherhood; she was known for her easygoing demeanor, kindness, and a heart of gold that radiated warmth to those around her.

Janet’s passions were simple yet meaningful. She loved baking and cooking, particularly during the holidays, infusing celebrations with her special touch and creating treasured memories for family and friends alike. Her leisure activities included enjoying Bingo, engaging in crafts, and the occasional scratch-off lottery ticket, all of which brought her joy.

She is survived by her children: Frank (Roseanne) Bunnell, Edward Bunnell (Crystal J.), Leatha (Norman) Schrader Jr., Richard Piatt (Crystal B.), and Chad Piatt. Janet was also the loving companion of William Roe for 37 years and embraced his children—Katherine, Dina, Missy, Wendy, Billy, and Travis—as part of her extended family. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom will dearly miss her presence.

Janet was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna McKenrick and Carol Morrisey; her parents, Thomas King and Mildred Hughes; and her grandson, William Bunnell.

Janet Piatt’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those she loved will be remembered with affection. Her life serves as a testament to the profound impact one individual can have through kindness, family dedication, and a genuine heart.

Friends are invited to the William G. Neal Funeral Home 925 Allison Ave. Washington on Wednesday April 22, 2026 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM.  A funeral service will take place on April 23, 2026 at 10AM at the funeral home.  Burial to follow at Prosperity Cemetery.
