Janet Carroll Zink, 81, of Washington, died on November 5, 2021, in her home. She was born on March 9, 1940, in Westland, a daughter of the late Harlan G. and Almaretta Strimel Shober. She was Protestant by faith. Janet worked for The Pitt Corp. as a packer, inspector, and machine operator. She enjoyed playing the piano, dancing, bowling, baking, flower gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. On January 3, 1972, Janet married Larry Walter Zink, who died on January 25, 2014. Surviving are two sons, Donald Nicholas Muncie, and William Kevin (Tracy) Muncie, both of Washington; two daughters, Sonja Lynn (James) Kowcheck, of Washington, and Cynthia Marie Durham (Michael Barbour), both of Washington; a brother, Harlan G. (Jackie) Shober, of Houston; a sister, Myrna D. Calabro, of Houston; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Janis Marie Shober, and two daughters, Brenda Loy Kraus and Shelly Ann Zink. Family and friends will be received Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held on Friday, November 12, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Douglas Keith officiating. Interment to follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
