Jean "Sissy" Marie Weaver Penvose, 89, of Washington, died on November 8, 2021, in the Donnell House, Washington. She was born on July 8, 1932, in Renfrew, a daughter of the late Loyal Jacob and Lila Celeste Best Weaver. A truly selfless woman, Jean devoted her whole life to caring for her family, whom she loved so much. In any space or time you would probably see Jean with a book, she loved reading so much. She also enjoyed playing bingo. On October 15, 1949, she married the love of her life, Clarence L. "Curly" Penvose, who survives. They recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. Also surviving are four sons, Lee D. (Marilyn) Penvose, of Vermilion, OH, Jay M. (Judy) Penvose, of Houston, Mark A. Penvose, of Washington, and Gene R. (Kim) Penvose, of Washington; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Carrie) Penvose, of Medina, OH, Jay P. Penvose, of Canonsburg, Kevan (Karen) Penvose, of Milwaukee, WI, Lisa Penvose Lloyd, of Summerville, SC, Ashley Penvose, of Boston, MA, Jason (Billie) Penvose, of Washington, and Melissa (Justin) Weaver, of Scenery Hill; eleven great grandchildren; the children of her late sister, Diane, Lori (David) Pickering, Susan Bissell Songer, Michael (Linda) Bissell, Scott (Joanne) Bissell, and their "Bissell" families, to whom she was a second "mom" and "grandma"; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Debra Jean Penvose; four brothers, Loyal "Jake" Weaver, Elwood "Red" Weaver, Ronald H. Weaver, and Kenneth L. Weaver; a sister, L. Diane Weaver Bissell; a grandson, Ryan Penvose; a nephew, Matthew Pickering; and a niece, Jessica Mangir. In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral. Arrangements are entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 92 W. Walnut St., Washington, PA; or South Strabane Fire Company #2, 172 Oak Spring Rd., Washington, PA; or the Donnell House, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA; or a charity of choice.
