Jeffrey Lynn Baker

Jeffrey Lynn Baker, 73, of Avella, died October 13, 2022, in VA Medical Center, H.J. Heinz Campus, Aspinwall. He was born November 24, 1948, in Cambridge, MA, the son of the late Richard Delos and Josephine Rosalie Donovall Baker. A 1967 graduate of Avella High School, Jeff worked as a security guard for Morris Security. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing bingo and other games at the nursing facility. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam until his Honorable discharge in 1971. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Sharpshooter (Rifle), and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Jeff is survived by his sister, Joyce A. (Earl) Meeks, of Washington, and brother, Richard William Baker, of Houston, TX. Family and friends will be received Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm, with a service Monday, October 24, 2022, at 10:00 am, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Interment to follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, with Honors accorded by the U.S. Army, and American Legion Post #175.
