Jerry Stein, 91, of Washington, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2025, after a very brief stay in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born August 29, 1933, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Louis M. Stein and Esther M. Reidel Stein.
Jerry was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School.
He retired from Jessop Steel after 44 years of employment.
Jerry was a member of the National Rifle Association, Steel Union #1141, shooting instructor for Frazier Simplex Rifle Club, and a former member of Masonic Lodge #164.
He was previously on the board of Upper Buffalo Cemetery and formerly held the titles of vice president and treasurer.
On June 19, 1954, he married Ruth W. Waychoff Stein, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jerry Russell (Sherry) Stein of Fairfield, Ronnie Lee (Karen) Stein of Washington and Robert Louis Stein of Hermitage; grandchildren Carissa Lynn Keirs, Ryan Lee (Amanda) Stein, Joel Russell Stein and Sara Rose (Brady) Bedillion; great-grandchildren Cierra, Parker, Michelina, Aubrey, Beau, Mya and Ava; a sister-in-law, Carol Stein; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Louis Stein, Jack Stein, and George Stein.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, with Rev. Cynthia Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Upper Buffalo Cemetery, Washington.
