Joann C. (Porta) Luba, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 1,2025 at UPMC Washington Hospital.
She was born April 11, 1953, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of late William J. and Anna (Sarubbi) Porta.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Arthur “Art” M. Luba, whom she married on July 26, 1975, and her beloved son, Matthew M. Luba and his wife, Hillary (Brakebill) Luba.
Joann was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Parish.
She was a 1971 graduate of Canevin Catholic High School and continued her education at the Bradford School of Business.
Joann worked in the Accounting Department of Stringert & Bowers Roofing Co. in McKees Rocks, PA and subsequently was self-employed providing accounting services for small businesses, until she retired seven years ago.
In addition to her husband, son and daughter-in-law, Joann is survived by her sisters Susann, Mariann, and Georgeann (Toni) Porta; her brother William Porta; nephews Jacob and Adam Wright, and many cousins, friends, and extended family.
Joann was a friendly, generous person who enjoyed cooking, reading, and hosting numerous parties for family and friends every year, as well as playing cards and games.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025.
