Joseph Angott Jr., a devoted family man and respected veteran, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born on August 9, 1941, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Joseph’s life was marked by endless commitment, hard work, and a deep love for those closest to him.
A proud graduate of Trinity High School’s class of 1959, Joe went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. During his military tenure, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal, honoring his courage and sacrifice in service to his country.
Following his time in the army, Joe forged a successful career first with RCA, where he worked for 20 years, demonstrating his skill and loyalty. He later dedicated 22 years of his life to Washington Hospital as a Biomedical Technician, a role in which his diligence and expertise greatly benefited countless patients and colleagues.
Joe’s life was enriched by the love and joy of his family. He met his future wife, Harriett L. (Boyle), under serendipitous circumstances at a gas station when they were just 20 years old. Their love story blossomed, leading to their marriage on January 4, 1964, an enduring bond that sustained them through their loving marriage. Joe cherished his family above all else and was a loving and kind father to his two sons, Joseph (Tina) and Brent (Kim) Angott. His greatest pride was in raising his sons and watching them grow into accomplished, caring men.
Joe's heart was further filled by his grandchildren—Nathan, Ryan, Allison, Sarah, Bella, and Kayla, often attending their sporting events to cheer them on enthusiastically. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of gardening, hunting, and golfing, pastimes that brought him both peace and joy. Always by his side was Lucy, his faithful dog, who followed him everywhere, a constant companion and beloved pet.
He is also survived by his dear sister Diana (late Lloyd) Allen; and many nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph and Mary (Frankovich) Angott Sr., and siblings William Angott and Theresa Shuba.
Known for his hardworking nature, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, Joseph leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will echo through generations.
