Karen E. Murray

Karen E. Murray (Friend), 76, of Washington, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, October 2, 2026.

She was born May 13, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of the late James G. Friend and Lillian A. Miller Friend. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, James R. Friend, and her husband, Larry W. Murray.

Karen was a graduate of Trinity High School. Following high school, she dedicated many years to working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary at the Greenery Center for Rehab and Nursing, a career she took great pride in and found meaningful. In her free time, Karen enjoyed visiting the casino and spending time with her beloved pets Charm, Lucky and Fluffy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two children, daughter Jody Plumley and her husband, Christopher, and son Douglas Murray and his wife, Rachel; and her three grandchildren, Hayden, Harper, and Lindley.

In accordance with Karen’s wishes, there will be no services.
