Kathleen Kimble Duchess Putorti, 82, of Washington, died on January 29, 2023, in her home, following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Putorti was born on June 14, 1940, in Independence Township, a daughter of the late Merle E. and Maxine Main Kimble. She was a 1958 graduate of Avella High School, and worked locally in banking, and as a secretary for many years, retiring in December, 2005 from Timberline Packaging, Inc. Kathleen was a thirty-three-year member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served as Congressional Secretary and Deacon. Her early membership was with Grove United Presbyterian Church, West Middletown. Kathie was a former twenty-year member of Professional Secretaries International, having served many years as an officer. She was also a member of the Washington Historical Society, the Red Hat Society, the Washington Sign Committee, and Pennsylvania Notaries Association. In 1967, she married Homer William Duchess, who died December 5, 1982. On November 29, 2003, she married Dr. Carmen Putorti, of Canonsburg, who died July 25, 2019. She and Carmen spent Fourteen winters in Haines City, FL. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Eric D. (Luann) Duchess, of Geneva, NY, and Donald Duchess, of Clearwater, FL; a daughter, Linda Duchess, of Monroe, TN; a son, Lynn (Ellen) Passet, of Arlington, OH; a brother, Bruce A. (Judy) Kimble, of Canonsburg; two sisters, Nancy Richmond, of Washington, and Frances M. (William) Craft, of Woodruff, SC; a stepdaughter, Pamela (Dennis) Hamilton, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a stepson, Patrick (Dawn Predmore) Putorti, of Upper-St-Clair; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, George M. Kimble; a sister, Betty Kimble McKuhn; and a step grandson, David Pippenger. Friends and family are welcome on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, February 3, 2023. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
