It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen "Kitty" Sterling (McCurry), of Canonsburg, announces her passing on November 22, 2025, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her love. Kitty bravely faced a short and unexpected battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. She remained active and full of life until the final weeks.
Born the youngest child of the late Harry and Agnes McCurry, Kitty was a proud 1964 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School. She married Robert "Tom" Sterling in 1967 and welcomed two children: Robert Sterling (deceased) and Brenda (Randy) McDonald of Houston. Though their marriage initially lasted only a handful of years, their love endured through long-distance phone calls and reconciliation, culminating in their joyful remarriage in Las Vegas in 2002. Together, they shared 14 cherished years of love and happiness until his sudden passing in May 2016.
Kitty was blessed to spend those precious years with the love of her life. Kitty retired from PCS in 2013, dedicating her career to helping others. In her retirement, she found joy in casino trips, playing bingo, working puzzle book, listening to Country Music and spending quality time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, kind heart, and love of life, inspiring those around her with her warmth and generosity.
She is survived by her devoted son, Paul Harshall and his wife, Carmen, of Bridgeville, and her beloved twin daughters, Lisa McComas and her husband Clifford "Mac", and Teresa Huseman, both of Canonsburg. She cherished her grandchildren: Alexis Bakaitis of Baden, Shelby Huseman of Canonsburg, Mason Maverick McComas of Canonsburg, and Amanda Sterling, Stevie McDonald, and Randy McDonald, as well as her many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her love for family extended to her siblings and closest friends. She deeply cherished her only remaining sister and best friend, Eileen Costanzo of Canonsburg, and her brother, Frank McCurry of North Versailles. Preceded in death were her late husband and oldest son, as well as her brothers Harry McCurry and Robert McCurry, sisters Margaret McKahan , Elizabeth Raineri, and Agnes Mossburg, and nephews Harold Mace, Timothy Mace, Boyd McCurry, Harry Mossburg, and James McCurry, and her lifelong best friend Linda McGowan. She also loved Tom's children, Robert, Linda and Sheri (deceased) of Ohio and their children and grandchildren very much.
Throughout her life, she was known for her generous spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her ability to bring warmth and laughter to those around her. She will be remembered as a devoted matriarch, a loving sister and a cherished friend. Throughout her last weeks she expressed her thankfulness for the opportunity to share memories and say good-bye to everyone that she loved, embracing each moment with grace and appreciation for the friendships and family bonds that had enriched her life. Kitty cherished the time spent reminiscing with family and friends, recounting joyous stories, and expressing her gratitude for the love and support that surrounded her.
Her final days were marked by a serene reflection on the meaningful connections she had fostered over the years, as she imparted words of wisdom, encouragement, and affection to all who gathered to honor her memory. Through these moments, Kitty's enduring spirit, warmth, and gratitude were evident, leaving behind a legacy of love, inspiration, and heartfelt memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
