Kenneth Butterfield, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2025, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on December 4, 1941, Kenneth lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and a deep love for those closest to him.
A dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator for many years, Kenneth took pride in his work and the responsibilities it entailed. His commitment to his career was mirrored by the joy he found outside of it. He treasured the moments he spent golfing with his friends, making lasting memories on courses far and wide. A familiar face at the Chestnut Street McDonald's in Washington, PA, Kenneth enjoyed spending time with friends, engaging in lively banter that showcased his great sense of humor and love for a good laugh.
Kenneth's passion for life extended to his love for music, finding solace and joy in the melodies of old country and western tunes. In addition to his many interests, he was particularly proud of his yard, which he cultivated to perfection, reflecting his meticulous nature and the care he put into all he did.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Terri Tineri (Rick Mersky) and Michaelene Severyn (Brian Kelly), and his grandchildren, Sydney Severyn (fiancé Nick Smutney), Abby Severyn, Julia Severyn (fiancé Dr. Joseph Fahmy), and Michaelene Tineri (fiancé Brandon Nivas). Kenneth is also survived by his sister, Wilda "Sis" Dillon and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Deems Butterfield, and his brothers, Jack and Leroy "Buck," as well as his sister, Ethel Mae "Pete" Shriver. His legacy of laughter, love, and family will continue to shine through the lives of those he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
